The Valley of the Jeep Beats? Anyone?
In 1991, I was copping any and everything Public Enemy-related, so when Terminator X dropped this compilation, I was all over it. It was a pretty decent effort, but it missed the punch of a typical PE project, with the exception for track #4 Juvenile Delinquintz, by the group of the same name. It was immediately my favorite joint (kids vs. school!), and somewhere down the line they created this video for it. It got run on Rap City a couple of times, but it was almost like seeing Bigfoot. I always seemed to catch the tail end of it as well. You know, you walk in the damn room and the Rap City bubble letters and video credits have already popped up (they always popped up waaaay before the video was over) That shit was the worst.
I searched and searched for this foursome, but I don’t believe they ever surfaced again. Of course this was pre internets, so there was no way in hell to find out about obscure groups like this unless they got pub in The Source or were on MTV or BET. The Juvy Delinquintz were never heard from again, but they will forever live on in the mind (and iTunes) of Andrew Barber.
